Eugene M. Passaro Elected Chairman of the Board at StonehamBank

StonehamBank is proud to announce the election of Eugene M. “Chief” Passaro to Chairman of the Board of Directors of StonehamBank. Mr. Passaro, who was originally elected to the Board in August 1993, was voted to Chairman at the Board of Directors meeting held Thursday, April 14, 2011. Eugene Passaro succeeds the late Robert H. Skelley IV.
Mr. Passaro, originally from Connecticut, came to Stoneham in 1981 to fill a temporary term as Chief of Police. Mr. Passaro found a new home in Stoneham and the temporary one year term would eventually turn into twenty years as Chief of Police. After his retirement in 2001, Mr. Passaro chose to stay in Stoneham and continues to be involved in the community. Prior to being Stoneham’s Chief, he held a number of positions with the Police Department of Stamford, Connecticut and enlisted with the United States Air Force. Mr. Passaro also received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Master’s in Public Administration.
In addition to being a member of the StonehamBank Board of Directors, Mr. Passaro has served as Chairman of the Finance Committee since 1997. He remains an active member of numerous organizations including the Stoneham Rotary Club and the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, where he holds a lifetime membership.
