StonehamBank has taken on lead sponsorship of Mystic Valley Elder Services’ May 5th benefit performance of The Full Monty at the Stoneham Theatre. This is the seventh year that StonehamBank has been the lead sponsor of the annual theatre benefit.

Fewer than 40 seats remain open, and the organizations expect a sell-out performance.

The Gap Fund was created by Mystic Valley Elder Services to provide life-supporting assistance to elders who are ineligible for state programs. Through the Gap Fund, Mystic Valley Elder Services provides elders with transportation assistance, medication vouchers, home care services, and access to medical treatment.

With benefits like the special performance of The Full Monty, Mystic Valley Elder Services aims to raise a $1 million endowment for the Gap Fund that will allow it to be self-sustaining in the years to come. Over the past seven years, the endowment campaign has raised over $750,000.

“StonehamBank has prioritized support for the Mystic Valley Gap Fund for seven years running because we have great commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our elder community,” said Chairman of the Board Eugene M. Passaro. “One hundred and twenty-five years ago, StonehamBank was formed by a group of residents who were facing an uncertain economic future. And for more than a century, we have operated as a reflection of our community,” he said. “It’s fitting then that on this anniversary year we renew our support of elders without financial resources.”

Mystic Valley Elder Services is a non-profit organization that connects elders, adults of all ages living with disabilities, and caregivers to important state and private services. Through Mystic Valley’s many programs, people can find daily meal delivery, help with personal care needs and daily tasks, answers, and support.
