Stoneham, MA (September 29, 2020) – This summer, StonehamBank employees showed their support for the Billerica Food Pantry by raising funds through the “Jeans at Work” initiative which ran from June through August. The team raised $545.00 for the Billerica Food Pantry, a non-profit, with a mission to offer assistance to people located in the Billerica community with temporary food and personal items as needed to help alleviate hunger and poverty.

“Our team’s enthusiasm to continually participate in this initiative is exciting to watch. This summer, the ‘Jeans at Work’ initiative took on a more personal meaning, with a true spirit of camaraderie and support for all individuals and families being effected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Edward F. Doherty, Jr., CEO of StonehamBank. “For us, it is more than just being able to wear jeans to work it’s about community and giving back.”

If you are a Billerica resident and are in need of food and/or personal care items, you can receive assistance from the Billerica Food Pantry. The Food Pantry stocks non-perishable foods, some household supplies and toiletries, and a limited supply of frozen and refrigerated items such as cheese, eggs, and frozen meats.

Billerica Community Pantry’s distribution dates are currently scheduled for the 4th Monday of every month at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 70 Concord Rd. Billerica. During COVID-19, distributions are drive-thru only. Please be aware, RSVP is required at www.billericacommunitypantry.com for each COVID-19 drive-thru distribution. Those who have previously registered or RSVP’d to previous COVID-19 distributions need to RSVP each month so that they order the proper amount of foods.
