STONEHAM, MA (December 2021) –  As our neighbors and friends prepare for this holiday season, we know that there are some folks who might appreciate a helping hand to ensure that their families have reason to celebrate.

StonehamBank’s Montvale Avenue branch is hosting a toy and gift card collection through December 17, 2021, in partnership with the Stoneham Fire Department for donations to Toys for Local Children, a Somerville-based organization which works to grant holiday wishes for families in the local area. Along with donations of unwrapped new toys, Stoneham Firefighter Labriola also noted that the age range most often overlooked is youngsters from ten to sixteen years of age, for which gift cards work perfectly.

Collection boxes will once again be placed at the Fire Department, Stoneham Police Station, Stoneham Town Hall, Stoneham Public Library and StonehamBank on Montvale Avenue.  The collection box pickup date will be Monday, December 20, 2021.  After that date, toy and gift card donations may be made directly to the Stoneham Fire Department on Central Street, Stoneham.

Stoneham families needing assistance for this holiday season should visit the Town of Stoneham website for an application.  Applications can also be picked up at the Town Clerk’s office.  All applications should be returned to the Town Clerk, Maria Sagarino, no later than Friday, December 17, 2021. Those with questions can contact Firefighters Michael Labriola or Dan Kelleher at the Stoneham Fire Department,781-438-0127.
