Stoneham, MA (June 2025) — For Stoneham High School students, asking the simple question: “What if?” resulted in some amazing products presented to StonehamBank sharks at the annual SHS Shark Tank program on June 6 in the StonehamBank Board Room.
SHS students Jack Donnelly and Christian Mendez took top prize with their business proposal Pothole Pros – a quick solution for unsafe roads after harsh winters - which impressed judges Sr. Vice President/Chief Commercial Lending Office Kevin Marquis, Sr. Vice President/Chief Cred Officer/Environmental Office Chad Titcomb, Vice President/Business Development Shawn Kelley and Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer Christopher Macomber.
“Stoneham High School is truly appreciative of the support StonehamBank gives our Shark Tank Project every year,” said SHS Social Studies Teacher Kurt VonSneidern. “It's such a great experience for our students to pitch business ideas to bank executives. We are grateful for your commitment to helping the young Stoneham community grow and mature into thriving young adults!”
In addition to the winning project, presentations included a business proposal for fueling electric cars while driving with the power of the sun and a gaming app bringing players together from different consoles.
“I have been a judge on the Shark Tank for several years now,” says SVP Marquis, adding “and I continue to be impressed by the how well the students are prepared, how well they present and the creativity of their ideas. The program is well run, and I am happy to be part of it.”
