About Authentication

There are multiple ways to verify someone is who they claim to be. These are most often split into three categories.

  1. SOMETHING YOU KNOW: This could be a password, pin, social security number, etc.
  2. SOMETHING YOU HAVE: This could be a code generated by a token, an authenticator mobile app, a text message or phone call sent to your mobile device, etc.
  3. SOMETHING YOU ARE: This is commonly referred to as “biometrics” and could be achieved through a fingerprint reader, facial recognition, iris scanner, etc.

Mandatory Alerts

The Bank will contact you when one of the following actions have happened:

  • Failed login attempts generated to customer’s email address on record
  • Phone number change “User profile change” alert generated to email on record
  • Email address change “Online banking email change” alert generated to both old and new email addresses.
  • User ID change email generated to email on record
